“Swedish Team Thule with helmsman Martin Strandberg and crew Johan Örtendahl was first to cross the finishing line at Lidingö, Stockholm today at 14.22, becoming winners of the Archipelago Raid 2009. They kept a good lead all the way to the finish and managed to catch up with their main rivals in the overall standings. French Team Citus Proust/Motteau where close to their goal of being the first crew to repeat victory to win two Archipelago Raid competitions in a row. They have also had a tough competitor in British Team Audio Network Sunnucks/Farren, third overall that only lost their chances yesterday after some technical problems.”

Interresting that both the winner and the team that came second are sailing with other sails than standard on Nacra resp. Wildcat.
Martin is sailing with North (apparently similar cut that Rob used on the Shockwave) and Proust is sailing with Incidence. Seems like a trend within the F18 class, is it?

North will gain market with their Shockwave performance, maybe also they used special cuts-drafts for this raid conditions.
Here in Argentina, North developed the 1st local F18 sails for my RCs with Lange´s Olympic experience too.
I think is good to have more alternatives, if we have like 8? boat options on the F18, more sails is only good news.
The winner, Martin Strandberg, is actually working for NS on the Wcoast of Sweden. But am guessing he is using their standard class sail. Brand new off course.
A great achievement anyhow. That is a bad ass race.
Big up Martin & Johan
We used standard "Nacra North Sails" during the Raid. Also a standard Nacra Mast.
With a lot of help from Rob W we created fast sails for the Nacra Infusion. All NS F18 modells come frome the same "mould", then we adjust the mast curve for the actual modell.

Martin Strandberg
