Flashback: Martyn Ashton, Bike Party I
–
My kids are growing up, and I try to pass them the pure joy of practicing any sport. We were riding MTB yesterday with Tomy, teaching him how to ollie the entire bike from flat, we did some fun slaloms too on a curvy walking trail and then we came home. Once back I recalled that tremendous legendary video done by Martyn Ashton, I forward the link to both (one 15 the other 18, little girl 7) , not for them to go those crazy tricks, but just to appreciate the talent of this great rider.
Later ‘Bike Party II’, and told them about Martyn’s accident where he was left paralyzed and how he continued to push forward either way. The Trilogy of BP I & II plus his downhill return ride on the adapted seat mtb are truly inspiring.
Martyn Ashton is a Legend as few out there no matter the sport, I just wanted to pay some tribute to him doing this post.
For the youngers, enjoy one of the greatest videos ever uploaded to YT. Macca would agree!
Yes you have MacAskill and others most new & elaborated ones, but these BP ones have the raw beauty of the scenery tricks and that road bike, just unique. They will remain gems for ever.
Something recently similar to BP vibes is Pol Tarres T700 “The Seeker” (I)
In Catsailing the #1 shortfilm is German Nats 2011
