UK: East Coast Piers Race results

F18s Dominate at ECPR –
The F18s win every race over the weekend with Luke and Matt winning the ECPR Overall and Myself and Fraz Taking the Saturday Series,
Brief Race Report – A Building breeze from the South West meant a long run out the river and down to Clacton, the Lead F18s changed places several times with Trevor and Tom initially leading through Bradwell but overtaken by Oli/Jez and Myself and Fraz just before Colne, Oli/Jez then Lead most of the way to Clacton but were overtaken by Myself/Fraz just before the Gate, the wind kept bringing the middle of the pack back into play as it built from behind and this brought Luke/Matt back in the game to round the turn mark at Walton 2nd F18 just behind Myself/Fraz, The long Beat back suited Luke and Matt who overtook us and built a commanding lead never to be headed, the battle for 2nd was fought very hard with Trev/Tom and Oli/Jez attacking Simon/Fraz hard all the way to Bradwell but the flatter water nearer home suited the visiting Dutch Team of Kees / Gerard sailing a Capricorn who came through into 3rd not far behind ourselves who held on to 2nd at the finish.

So 7 F18s in the top 11 a great result for the Fleet considering some of our strongest sailors are currently away competing at the F18 Worlds in France.
