Thomas Coville Solo Circumnavigation ongoing record attempt, ‘old’ news but worth publishing. Besides knowhow and experience you need full guts and self confidence to drive that Tri alone, these French multi sailors are just nuts. I can only laugh when we complain about conditions on the F18s after seeing things like this.

Later there were 2-3 more nosedives, similar or even scarier, Coville said the next day.
Here's a comment (link below) where someone describes the design having built-in pitchpole recovery. Sounds plausible?

The thing is as someone also pointed at SA, that first you shouldn´t put yourself or the boat in that position, that was too close to a full dive with no return.

They say that the longer main hull did the trick, and a larger float would have been even worse… but an ama with more volume maybe could prevent that extreme vertical position.

Just speculations, and Nigel Irens knows better for sure, this Tri need to do well and safe in a great range of conditions on a solo circumnavigation.

Again, they are experienced nuts sailors with steel balls.
