Our own Scorpion F18, Finally Assembled

It look a while, say like 10 yrs! But we Finally got our own Scorpion. We received it back in January as reported, but had to be put together from scratch rivet level and rig/cables too. Finally the Beast is Fully assembled! A decade since we launched the Scorpion Project and 18yrs from our first built F18 back in 2004 here in Arg.

Many Thanks to Jakub Kopylowicz , the crew @exploderinfo and Felix Egner / Landenberger OD, two great guys that helped me since day 1, humble & hard working people, I know both personally and they are Best in the business, I highly respect them. Proud to sail their top quality equipment.

The Weapon above was already envisioned at a dinner the three of us had at Punta Ala 2015. The idea was to offer a competitive and cost effective new F18 build by Jakub and equipped with Felix sails.

The Scorpion has established itself as the Nr 1 F18, winning last 4 consecutive World Titles with four different crews, three of them equipped with 1D Sails.

Now is time to offer even more alternatives, and we’ve been working in the background with Felix again, since 2019 to have a competitive DS. The sail has been tested here in Arg in two major events, and now I will sail them on the Scorpion above.

Super happy and proud to be able to sail her, this Saturday I went out with my two kids, the little didn’t wanted to come!

Also I raced it two weeks ago with lent sails. The Scorpion goes really well beyond the known results, I’ll make a report soon.

Finally a big Thank you to my cousin Nada Solari, all my Argie Friends & customers, and local providers. This Scorpion has some local components from three of them who sourced parts for the first F18 we built here in Arg (2004/2005)
