F18, St Barts Catacup 2021: Win for Gonzalez Smith & Heuser
Finally an international #1 for our Argie mates. With a tremendous 2021 Cruz Gonzalez Smith and Mariano Heuser (Scorpion / 1D) finished the year winning at St Barts after finishing second at Gaeta F18 Worlds and later another Vice Championships at the 2021 North Ams held at ABYC.
Cruz & Mariano have established themselves as current top 3 F18 riders World Wide and sooner or later the Worlds Title will be in their hands.
At St Barts, although an invitational regatta, they won over the exerienced French crew of Gurvan Bontemps & Ben Amiot (Scorpion / SI) and also top rider Patrik Demesmaeker-Olivier Gagliani (Goodall Akurra) .
4th place for another Argie crew, Agustin Krevisky & Juan Martín Benitez (Scorpion / 1D) , in their first trip to St Barts , they had a so so start but later applied pedal to the metal with daily podiums and quite close to reach the final one too. Agustín also with a great year, after an awesome last race bullet at Gaeta for a 3rd Worlds overall with Nico Aragonés.
5th at St Barts for Todd Riccardi & Dalton Tebo, putting the new Nacra Evo to some excellent performance, a crew to watch for 2022 Worlds to be held in the US.
Where the Argentine fleet will seek more podiums. No matter the location for the Argies, Bring it On.
