Report by Grant Pellew. “The Sail World story has a clean start and Ashby winning but there was a recall and he was OCS in the race, so Bundock (DNA, Fibrefoam, Brewin) won followed by Andrew Williams (DNA, Fibrefoam, Brewin) & Brad Collett (Scheurer, Fibrefoam, Ashby).
The wind was 16-17kts from the NE with some short steep waves that made it pretty challenging and a little out of control at times.
Stevie Brewin capsized at the top mark pretty hard and broke his rig and a few boats had problems with rudders and centreboards, I think 3 boats in total dropped rigs today.
James Spithill beat Ashby to the top mark but got over taken on the run after also having a capsize.
Great day racing on the water, very challenging and tough but a great reward for finishing such a hard race.
I had one capsize and finished 15th which I am very happy with (mind you could have been a 10th without the capsize)”

I think the Landy photo, and definitely the startline photo, are from 2009 Nationals.
