Team New Zealand AC72 1st Hull image by Richard Gladwell

Image by Richard Gladwell / www.sail-world.com – This is Dogzilla amas all over the place. Morrelli&Melvin collaborated on those new amas that replaced the originals by VPLP.

Then the AC45s designed by the Oracle Team, took that shape for the 45 hull.
And now Team New Zealand with MM as their designers use it again.

Of course I’m talking about overall shape looks, and not specific details we can´t even see.
Just take a look to the pics to compare…. On the deck also that flat middle section with a progressive angular shape to the bow.
A really nice concept for pitch recovery that I tried to translated to the Open Project, present on VPLP Banque Populaire V and Melvin Nacra F20c too.
Also on the first support frame we can check the now defacto standard flat bottom cross section near the waterline, expect a super flat transom too. We are missing rocker here though for a full view.
