Oracle AC72 X 2

Image Guilain Grenier. On my IT days this was called a “Mirror” , and I have to say Oracle databases were super robust and reliable. And I could duplicate them in Linux quite easy as a copy-paste.. just like these two , with some additional improvements. More images at CSN FB.–

Right there is when you start playing with all your resources, Oracle campaign might boost with this, Bundock was onboard and reported best day ever for the Team.

Some anon put a rather bad vibe comment on OR related to pich and rudder rule modifications, at this stage I think no one wants to see any boat pitching again just for the safety of the sailors.
But I must agree that changing rudders setup rules, (adding mechanic stabilizers) is not fair for other teams like NZ that has no urge in their opinion to change their design at this stage. Edit: The rule as remarked in a comment does not adds mechanical trim while racing, nevertheless the goal and results of changing the rule are exactly the same.

Oracle now with this two boat test can maximize all board tests, although beam and dagger position has changed in boat #2. But they surely will refine and tune both machines. They have a good record on comebacks even in 2010 when their mast was destroyed quite near the event at Valencia.

What these two boats represent are illegal appendages.Well done Coutts and Murray you are taken the meaning of CHEATING in the Americas Cup to a new level.
    Cheers,

Please make very clear, the rule change proposed does not allow adjustment during racing. It is not a mechanical stabilizer as you say. It is a later fixed setting. Doesn't make it right to do.

Corrected. But There is no higher performance gain than avoiding pitchs… as once down you lost the race for good.

The goal is well intended in these rules changes:

"…The aim is to minimise the chance of a pitch-pole (when the bow of the boat submerges and the stern rises out of the water)…."

So I don´t care if fixed or mechanical, any design change at this stage will benefit those not achieving a stable ride, they should race as intended and developed following the rules to date.

The new ruling proposed is that you may use adjustable trim tabs on you rudders when before you could only have one fixed surface plane. We all know that Oracle could not maintain a constant foil and getting the speed wobbles without these adjustable tabs, there boat simply wasnt designed to foil.
Now all of a sudden they have these new 2.1m long with wider adjustable trim tab rudders fitted and the proposal still hasnt been pasted.Quite oronic isnt it when it would take months to design and manufactor.
The second point is that under Ian Murrays rule once the starters gun is sounded the trim tabs must be locked. How!we havent heard how this will be done, in this sport you cant take someones word because thats simply not good enough. After the starters gun has gone off and they are locked then the safety value is now ineffective,if it is a safety tool like a snap switch with one fixed setting that can only be use at the hint of pitchpole then Im all for it but we all know thats not going to happen with Oracle.
My gut feeling is this hole issue of adjustable trim tabs was preconceived a long time ago, most probability in October last year when they capsized there first boat as there are photos in April this year with these adjustable rudders fitted to there boat.
The last thing is that I can not believe is Ian Murray takes the law into his own hands and thinks hes now is a rule maker, to hell with the protacol and other teams and whats rights they have.
The only beneficiary out of all this is guess who? ORACLE!
You make up your own minds,I have!
    Cheers,
    Pete.
