A good 72 boats fleet for the 2018 Europeans being held at Ballena Alegre, Costa Brava, Spain. Several top riders present as informed in our preview. Candidates didn’t disappointed on the first day with Paschalidis-Trigonies (Scorpion / 1D) leading after 3 races over Burvill-Puttnam (Edge / Next Gen) and Mitch & Ruben Booth (Scorpion / 1D).
Sailing conditions were really good, 14knots and later 8-10 for the last race of the day.
In the top ten nice to see Henri Demesmaeker & Morgan Wirtz (C2 / Goodall Design) putting the face for Henri’s dad Patrick!
4 Italian crews in the top 10, confirming their work done in local Italian events we’ve been reporting past weeks.
Bianchini-Rigatti (Scorpion / 1D) in 5th place lead the Italian attach.
Mazzuchi-Lisignoli (7th) , Fantasia-Recalcati (8th) , Vettori-Stella (9th) all sailing Goodall Design C2s. Gianni with Landy DS.
6th place for Hans & Marius Van Dam (C2/Goodall Design DS)
Ballena Alegre seems to be a perfect place for racing, good selection from the Spanish fleet, and surely will host more international events in the future.
