Regatta being held at Wangi RSL Amateur Sailing Club (NSW)
Grant Pellew & Lilly Smith are leading after nice races in the F16 Class. Luke Ratcliff & Nick Reader in second and Katie Pellew & Emma Rankin in third overall.
F16 Official Day 3 Report excerpt:
“…A course adjusted to close under the headland making for gusty and shifty conditions particularly toward the top mark.
The conditions again favoured the gazelles that could change gears and accelerate quickly in the squirts of air tumbling over the headland. Katie Pellew and Emma Rankin made the most of the day scampering away to finish 2,1,1 which slingshot them past the Rentals and back onto the podium.
Their additional turn of speed came from putting the rudders on the correct sides of the boat (DOH!) and when combined with their excellent starts and skillful navigation of the gusts they scampered off to the finish line. With three races to go tomorrow if they can carry this form Luke Ratcliff and Nick Reader will need to sail defensively to hold second…”
