Second and final day of racing for the Moth Worlds Pre event. Mattias Coutts won the Oceania regatta by a small margin over Jacob Pye, 2pts only after 8 races held in good breeze. Seems the kid received the excellent racing genes from dad.

Yesterday I was told on the new steel and Titatium built rudder blades, with prices range around 7,500us for that part only. Moth is the development Class by excellence nowadays so the arms race is continuous, nevertheless lots of youths racing Moths attracted by the sheer foiling speed plus all the top sailors participating at major events.

Discussing with a builder too that now the A-Class has no excuse on expensive platforms for not having more younger sailors as the A-Cats devels have reached a good level on a upwind-downwind foiling mode almost above 6-7 knots (sparing gybes & tacks though).

Meanwhile Moths are gathering top notch sailing talents and youths alike, although forming local fleets to keep devel pace will be even harder with new super expensive tech.

The Moth Class is now almost one builder only with Mackay Bieker (V3 & V2) being the most used platform. Exploder sent new Moth to Botin, Jensen and Robertson who will not race on a broken rib.

Moth Worlds being held at Manly Sailing Club, NZ. Qualifying races will commence this Saturday.
