49er, Fx, IQFOIL
Yesterday we saw Botin-Trittel dominate the three Medal Races held (two cancelled of course) in the 49er fleet. Botin with a couple of Worlds Titles in 49er along Iago Lopez Marra, this time sailing with his Sail GP crew Florian Trittel. Both won the Sail GP final some weeks ago and yesterday they were crowned 49er Class Olympic Gold Medalists.
Impressive performance for the Spanish team, congrats.

The 49erFx was a show, with NED finishing the wrong side of the committee boat, to re take course and nailing a 3d to secure Gold… Tense moments till they found out the had retained Gold! Similar to Lange-Carranza 2016 vibes.
Earlier today we followed the IQ Foil Finals, two excellent races for Women & Men. A bit awkward racing only three sailors each with secured Medal… but nevertheless we witness two entertaining Finals
IQ Foil making their debut in the Olympics, the live TV shots were excellent, great addition in our view for Sailing.
Day 1 Nacra 17 fleet, Paris 2024 Olympics being raced at Marseille.
Good breeze for the Nacra 17 fleets reaching about 15 knots tops upwind and +20knots downwind legs. Tita & Banti showing their usual speed but it wasn’t a lead by miles these three races, with Majdalani & Bosco displaying top-end speed along NZ and ITA.
Mateo reports lulls at the upwind mark as too close to shore thus those extra tacks we saw in the gps trackings.
Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to see some live tv coverage, only 470 were streamed today after the IQ Finals.
