F18 Worlds 2022: Day 4 Results
Prolific day at Clearwater. Four races completed for seven total and now a valid Championship Title regatta. Day started with a good offshore winds and ended with light super shifty. Tough conditions which caught two of the contenders in the 20s and half the fleet not able to finish last race on time.
4th race looked same scenario than last from yesterday, till the second windward mark where the Argies went to cover a pack of followers on the left and additional tacks cost them the lead, finishing still 3rd and Colby-Colman taking the bullet.
5th race Smith-Heuser came from behind to since the start, to have a match race later on with Burvill-Puttman, speed runs for both experienced crews but reaching the finish the Argies went for the hunt and caught the Aussies for an impressive take over and score another bullet.
6th & 7th races wind came down and shifty playroom entered the game specially in the last race. ARG 11 and Parent-Gramm managed to stay in the top ten. The Argies showed some serious speed to cut a 7pt gap from Day 3 to establish a 1pt lead ahead of US1. Tight Title race will follow.
A 21st left Colby-Colman in 3rd overall, four pts behind Parent-Gramm while Danny & Kostas got 15 & 17th and relegated their chances a bit. Toni Rivas- Jordi Sanchez climbed to 4th overall scoring steady top tens in each race, consistency will be the key once more in the last day of the 202 Worlds Title race.
Much left today, with 4 more races scheduled, and nothing is defined yet.
