F18 Worlds 2022, Day 3: Parent & Gramm Lead

Finally after two days without activity Clearwater delivered an excellent day of racing, with a first start in 6 knots and two more in perfect +12knots breeze. Pity they left conditions at ease and didn’t completed a 4th race. Today the fleet will have an early start, 10:00AM Warning. (update by Bovyn via regatta PRO: Seems beach has to be boat free at 6PM on Turtles nesting)

On the water the local teams clinched the first in light winds , Reiss-Lauridsen and Daniels-Chu with the Akurras. After a rather short wait to reposition course the top candidates showed their teeth and Colby-Colman (Scorpion/1D) stayed left and flew to windward followed by Parent-Gramm (Nacra Evo) coming from the right.

Second gate the US team split and got the Aussies at the second windward mark to grab the bullet.

3rd race saw Ravi & Severin going right again at the boat, while Argies Smith-Heuser (Scorpion/1D) choose Colby’s previous path, to reach first to windward and never let go for a full fore win for our mates.

Danny & Kostas (Scorpion / 1D) had good low scoring day and sit 2nd overall.

Brett Burvill (Edge/Nxt Gen) putting lots of effort as he is racing with a carbon boot after an injury, they did good in the last two races along Max but an UFD relegated them in the overall.

Such a great asset to have Tracking available, kudos to Olivier Bovyn to secure this once more after we recommended for Gaeta. Trac Trac immerses you in the regatta no matter where you are, also an excellent analyzing and learning tool, good enough to block some protest too…he.

Hopefully more racing today. Follow updates in our Twitter account https://twitter.com/catsailingnews
