A Cat Europeans 2022: Day 1 Results

A Class Europeans hosted by Circolo Vela Arco at Garda. Day 1 saw an initial wait for wind but later 2 races for each ‘disciplines’ were completed.

I the Open fleet Mischa Heemskerk (DNA F1x / Mischa Sails) dominated the day with two bullets. A great comeback for Mischa after last year results in Garda vs the D3 teams and a no show at Houston Worlds.

Info we have directly from PJ is that Mischa is sailing the F1x with the orig 2018 working mainfoils, excellent news for a 4 year devel still performing vs all the latest work done by the Exploder Euro & Aussie team. But if there is a Class where sailors ability matters is the foiling As when devels reach a refinement point.

Still much left for this regatta, but today’s bullets for Heemskerk are good for the Class, only negative aspect is that DNA is not building or offering the F1x any more.

Second place overall today for Stevie Brewin (D3 / Brewin) and 3rd for Tymek Bendyk (D3 / Bryt)

In the Classics lead for Moritz Weis (D3 / Landenberger)
