Hobie 16 Worlds 2022, Open Semis Day 1

Our Argie mate, Lucas Gonzalez Smith, racing with his kid had a good Qualy stage scoring a bullet and a 3rd, and also now in the Semis sits in top 10, with a 5th in the only race held today.

Hobie 16 Worlds 20220 Day 1 Semi-finals racing –
We had to wait for the wind, but it came. Another long onshore postponement waiting for the wind to settle and fill. Racing got underway at 2:00pm with 8-13 knots of wind from the NE, a direction we haven’t seen yet.
Due to the late start only two races were completed today over two sessions with sailors swapping boats in between. The conditions were a bit milder today with shifts and ups and down in the pressure. Teams that stayed in the breeze did well, but it was easy to find yourself in the back.
The Semi-finals continue through September 22 when there will be a cut. Following the cut, only thr top forty-eight teams will advance to the finals.
