Ofifcial report sent by Guillaume Bourion – Tornado Worlds 2022 Day 2
For this second day of racing, the 2 scheduled races were completed in variable wind conditions.
The first race took place in fairly linear wind conditions, varying between 8 and 12 knots. It ended with a victory of the German boat GER 211, skippered by Jurgen JENTSCH, president of the Tornado class, and Vagelis DOLIANITIS. He precedes the Czech boat of Zdenek PAVLIS and Klara PAVLISOVA, already second in the first day, followed by the Greek boat GRE 11 of Konstantinos TRIGONIS associated with Konstantinos KAZANTZIS.
The second race took place after a general recall of all the boats following a false start. We noticed variable wind conditions in strength and direction; wind which was constantly weakening throughout the race, which necessitated several course changes. The Greek crew composed of Konstantinos TRIGONIS and Konstantinos KAZANTZIS, was able to regain the lead of the race and is still in the lead of the regatta after 4 races. He is ahead of the French crew FRA 2 skippered by Yoann TRECUL associated at Thomas FERRAND, 2nd, and the Australian crew AUS 3 skippered by Brett BURVIL.
Next departure tomorrow, Wednesday, August 31st, for a launch of the procedure planned at 1 pm.
