Nacra 17 Palma 2022: Tita & Banti dominate




Had a chat with an Argie at Palma some mins ago. Tita & Banti playing another game, is like the first days of the A Cats on downwind foiling, just another Class performance. Recently the As have established a 3rd stage which is upwind foiling leaving those downind only flyers in the dust too. Floaters have their own Classic Division now.
But in the Nacra 17 Olympic Class, there is no place for such divisions, you better start foiling upwind soon cause no matter the perfect starts or weather reading, or preparation or tactics, you are done if you cannot foil upwind.
The Finish crew also blasting, from nowhere, at least for me. Some other foiling upwind, but the fleet have a long way to go to reach the Gold Medalists level.
Re DS we wrote days ago, seems the N17 in the breeze is a wild horse, and a DS will bother tacking and gybe, but it will add stability as proven in the As or F18s. So it should be analyzed for next cycle at least.
