Final day of the German Nationals by Rainer Bohrer
Jakub Surowiec (Kuba) won the Regatta with additional three bullets! Congratulations and thank you for joining this special event combined with celebrating the 50th anniversary of the German A-Cat Association!
Kuba was clearly the fastest sailor in the fleet and sorted it out already in the first upwind in most of the races. Today, we again had very difficult conditions, more than one races were better to forget“ with big 90-180° shifts and wind holes one could easily look around and enjoy the beautiful Alps. Additionally we sailed an outerloop and some did not match the right marks on the way to the finish.
But finally the best sailors delivered, Bob went back on second overall and won the German title! Congratulations, great sailing mate!
Alex Meister recovered very well and made it back on the German podium!
Classic title goes to Christian Stock, followed by Georg Reuter and Florian Henning!
And finally, the best woman is Maren Odefey! Congratulations!
I had a very hard day and broke mast in the last race, during the first gusts of the day, it was game over! But I had my good moments and I am more than fine with the regatta and third place over all.
I would like to cordially thank Matthias Dietz for organizing everything around the anniversary and our international guests from AUT, CH, CZ and PL for joining us.
Special thanks also to the team on land and on water. Today I would still have a swim on the lake without your help! Great show!
We will come back soon!
