Rainer Bohrer contacted us to publish his report of the second day at the A-Class German Nats 2021. Rainer haing a great event , sitting in second overall with his DNA F1 / Mischa Sails DS. Kuba Suroviec leads. (D3/Bryt Sails)
Racing Day 2 of the Open German Champs A-Cat:
Jakub Surowiec is in a solid lead further on! It was another sunny day but even less wind than Yesterday at lake Walchensee – so real marginal foiling condition (unstable, maybe 3 to 10 knots, again tricky)… we managed to get two races in at least. The third one was canceled due to the dropping wind.A few sailers had quite a used day, picking up wood or having bad luck with the pure wind. Alex Meister dropped back from second to fifth over all. Kathrin Brunner lost her traveler mainsheet connection and could not finish a single race…
The women ranking is now taken over by Estela Jentsch Steimer.
Bob Baier and Christian Stock delivered solid and both were ok with the day back on land. Mathias Dietz, our light wind fay locked in two great second places and jumped on four overall!I was lucky and it went very well in the first race! It was a close race up and downwind in the top group, I decided well for the „right“ side on the last downwind.
My setup performed very nice today, my DNA lift off out of the water easily.
In the second race it was again close, Jakub did a hard try to get rid off some wood and I parked in one of the many opportunities at the last downwind. Jakub and Matthias Dietz did much better and foiled like rockets on there eXploder to place one and two. After the race Jakub did also a 90% foiling jibe, that was close! The boat dropped not until he was going out on trapeze again. An amazing sailor he is, that’s for sure!Tomorrow the very good race committee expects more wind, stay tuned!
Few fotos on the water, Christine Tichawa, more to come! Full ranking: https://miro.com/app/board/o9J_lBs12CI=/
