Nacra 15 FCS “One”, Solo foiling Cat

The Nacra 15 “One” falls into a interesting category. For solo foiling you have the A-Class or the double wand T foil systems of the S9 or ifly 15. Recently Goodall made their Viper F16 fly too.

The F16 is another Class you can race solo mixed within the two crew F16s. Sailing main sail only and Spi, the F16 platform looks an ideal solo platform but might be a bit too powerful for rookies. Here is where the Nacra 15 One might fill the gap for a recreational no hassle foiler.

I sail my daggerless RC16 no issues, but once I couldn’t upright it, 140-150kg and 8mts heavy local alu mast that time didn’t help. F16s are lighter platforms and we assume the Nacra 15 One too on its size, mast and cat overall dimensions make for the perfect recreational foiler with no issues launching it or complicated T foils wands systems to take care off. Still a bit heavy but lighter standard mast should be easy to recover without a pole / water bags.

Nacra 15 FCS One main Specs:

Weight 156kg
Hull: 4.7m
Mast: 8,17m
Beam: 2.34m
Main sail: 13,52m2
Spi: 13,89m2
Design: Morrelli & Melvin

I would recommend a rookie or weekend sailor that wants to sail solo to go for a Nacra 15 FCS One. Drawbacks might be not a perfect leveled flight a la S9 or iFly 15, but featuring Z foils & L rudders will make their rides a complete smooth experience from the launch itself.

Above a car industry level clip sent by Bob Hensen / Nacra, only small comment is they should have included a flat day session to show a smoother ride to catch even more interest.
Price range might hold some buyers too.

      Hi Anon

This one is worth a reply as we have total rookies, in Arg at least, going for A-Class as first ever catamarans, you can also have a rookie wanting to foil from scratch, or even catsailors that want a simple foiling platform, here enters the N15 aside price consideration vs used As etc.
