Yann Riou, twin role!
For the past eight years, sailing and image production have been part and parcel of his everyday life. Self-taught, Yann turned the work of media man into a profession at the end of the Volvo Ocean Race 2012, which he won with Groupama. Since then, he has been skilfully recounting tales from the high seas via his camcorder and camera, enabling us to dive into the very heart of a crew’s life in the open ocean. Out of the watch system during the Brest Atlantiques, the race rules prohibiting him from providing any assistance with sailing the boat, Yann Riou is switching status this year; indeed he will be one of the six members of the crew in the Jules Verne Trophy. In this way, he will be on watch like all the other sailors (or any sailor) on the boat, whilst continuing to create images aboard the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild. This dual role, synonymous with twice the work, does come with a number of benefits however, which he details in this new video article filmed by the teams from PolaRYSE.

If I correctly read the results the overall winner this year is a Hobie16
