F18 French Nats 2020: Mitch & Ruben Booth 1st

Shortened event due to eternal by now pandemic restrictions. A pity as the French Class association , Yacht Club Toulon and local sailors led by James Baeckler invested plenty on this event with media and sponsors. Eitherway the fleet was able to get some great sailing done. Just looking video above with Champagne sailing conditions. Great quality on these videos, more material come next days along pics. Videos filmed & edited by Blue Koast Records.

Footage above surely made worth the trip for all, considering, I would have payed a round trip no issues to sail & race at Toulon!
Mitch & Ruben Booth won with Scorpion / 1D , second place for Cedric & Laurent Bader (Official Nacra Evo Team) and third for Clement Peduzzi & Maxime Blandeau (Scorpion / 1D)

We want to see Mitch grabbing another F18 crown with his sons. 2021 they will be there to aim for the Worlds title.

F18 NATIONAL 2020

Good mood and nice conditions, together with health protocol and superb saling consitions, plus the sponsors support…

This is how we can sum up the National F18 held at the YCT. It was necessary to adapt the organization to the Marine patrol communications received the very morning of the Regatta.

With responsiveness, the Race Notice has been amended to share the National F18 and the NeoGliss Challenge on a single day, a beautiful 20 mile raid that has been offered to the 19 competitors who have come to enjoy our beautiful Mediterranean: Toulon / Les Fourmigues / in front of La Garde / Toulon.

All with 10/15 Knots from the SoutheasT, which offered excellent conditions for a great race!A nice race and a posterior nice award ceremony, in full compliance with the health instructions.

The winners were awarded by the F18 Class shorts, accessories from our partner @Exploder as well as sailing suits from Neoglisse

The podium in the end was:

1. Boot Micht and Ruben
2. Bader Cedric and Laurent
3. Peduzzi Clément and Maxime Blondeau

Thank you to all the volunteers from the Yacht Club de Toulon and the Club Multicoques de Hyeres for their support.
