Sometimes innovation even equalizes the field for young top PWA & Olympics sailors in their prime vs a 40 yrs old former RSX bronze medalist like Przemyslaw ‘Pont’ Miarczynski POL 126.
Why? Cause for ie in the RSX Class there is little chance a 40yrs old sailor can keep up and endure with the constant ‘rowing’ technique in the former RSX Olympic Class in subplanning conditions.
Great conditions today today, around 14 knots after a first day without ideal winds directions to set the course properly.
Formula Foil Class is governed by the Formula Windsurfing Class Rules and its Foil division. The new Starboard IQFoil Oympic Class enters within this Formula Foil rules.
Analogy would be having a double handed Catamaran Formula Foil where the Nacra 17 can also participate without any modification.
5 Qualifying races held today, Yellow & Blue fleets with the entire PWA FOIL stars and Double Olympic Gold Medalist Kiran Badloe. Later more details, tomorrow Live stream.
2019 PWA World Foil Champ Nico Goyard leads sailing Phantom full equipment and no back strap! See photo above.
Still much to go, but massive achievement already for our friend and always hard working, Jakub Kopylowicz putting 3 Exploder foils in the top 6 with Pont, Langer and Maciek. Exploder yard targeting what would be our own perfect Triple Crown: F18, A-Class (both in now with Scorpion and D3) and the Formula Foil Title in the future.
Tomorrow seems Live tracking will be available, check foilworlds2020.formulawindsurfing.org/event-updates for live news.
