Australian A-Cat Nats 2020: Open & Classic Titles for Bundock & Landerberger.

After winning the Formula 18 Worlds in 2019 Darren Bundock continues to perform, now on the foiling A-Class once more. The Australian Nats are a proving ground as few others. Bundy fought against multiple World Champ Steve Brewin and the title was defined by 1pt only. Third place went to James Clark. On equipment , top three with Exploder D3 / Brewin DS.
We hope Bundy can participate in Tampa Bay 2020 A-Class Worlds to aim for one of the most tricky achievements out there, which is winning the A-Class & F18 Worlds as helm. Till 2017, and to our knowledge, Legend Mitch Booth was the only one, then Mischa Heemskerk followed that same year. Ashby is the historical A-Class Nr 1 one, and also has several F18 Titles with Bundy, as helm he tried a few times too, but a pending task (IF any…) for him.
Another Cat Legend that can get on that exclusive list (A-Class & F18 Worlds as helm) is Darren Bundock and he should target an A-Class Worlds to continue filling his extensive trophy shelf.
In the Classics Division, another talented Olympic Medalist, as sailor & coach, grabbed the 2020 Aus Nats. Andrew Landenberger (D3 / Landenberger DS) won 6 out of 7 races in this regatta. Landy was crowned Classic Division World Champ in 2019 and currently dominates the Classic fleet. Only a bad knee has put him on floating mode, but as Bundy, he continue to show they are on another league in spite their age. In our view Landy should go back to F18 as well.
