Nacra 15 Worlds 2019: Ruben & Rita Booth crowned Champs
Photo: Laurens Morel / Saltycolours.com & YCPR Marseille. Great finish for the 2019 Nacra 15 Worlds held at Yacht Club de la Pointe Rouge, Marseille. Tight fight for the title with Jesse Lindstadt & Lisa Rausch leading by two points entering the final day ahead of Ruben & Rita Booth.
For the 3 races the Booths grabbed control with 2,6,3 while the German youths got 12,3,7. Results showing a truly competitive fleet where bullets where spread within the top ten.
In the end Ruben & Rita Booth prevailed by a 3pts gap to obtain a deserved reward. We’ve been following both racing with Father & Legend Mitch, specially in the F18 Class where they crewed for dad in Worlds and top events. Excellent preparation participating in the F18 Class regattas, and we encourage kids World Wide to do the same. Excellent work done by both, congrats Ruben & Rita, your dad should be more than proud.
We praised Mitch Booth last F18 Worlds on his constant effort to put time with his sons, when he could get a pro crew to win no problem, Mitch decided to pass his knowhow & experience first hand and on board! Best way possible. Definitely a Family & Team effort, with Jordi Booth also finishing top ten with Janneke Fock.
Same for the rest of crews participating (80!) , plenty of stories no doubt for the youths and their parents effort and dedication to have their kids focused on the best way one can spend key youth years: Sailing & Practicing outdoors sports. For me sports have always been Nr 1 formation asset along a good education and I’m glad to see so many young kids racing in the Nacra 15 Class.
Great Future ahead for them & Catsailing.
