Nacra 17s @Palma 2017: Day 5 Results
All images: Jesús Renedo / Sailing Energy / Sofía Iberostar – Yesterday I told my good friends at Forward Sailing that Majdalani & Bosco were sailing their first event together and with more hours the kids would surely be top ten. Some months ago I talked with Remi Finiel (head of FW) to see if he could support a new Arg crew with plenty of potential, he believed my words on the talented Arg youths and he decided to support their project.
Long path towards Tokyo but nice to see Mateo & Euge scoring 5,4 & 1 yestereday and secure a top ten in their first ever regatta together.
Last Olympic campaign I literally had to ‘sell’ the Lange family for Carrie Howe and Magic Marine to support them, well look how it went for them in Rio, Gold for Santi & Ceci and top ten for the kids in 49er.
Much to happen in the Nacra 17 Class next months, with Besson getting ready for a comeback, Lange also preparing engines towards the Nacra 17 MKII foiling version.
At Palma Echavarri & Pacheco had 1,1 & 2 for the day to lead with 52pts after 15 races . Gimson & Burnet now 16pts behind (68pts) and Cenholt & Lubeck in 3rd place overall (81pts).
