AC45 ‘F’ Series @Portsmouth 2015: Day 1

All Images Gilles Martin Raget / ACEA – In the AC- app I only could watch after paying 8usd onboard cams, no local TV is broadcasting so I really don´t get why they don´t deliver web streaming here or everywhere for that matter, I watched the races not precisely on Americas Cup stream paid web or non existent TV.

Races were rather interesting to follow with BAR & TNZ looking a step above the fleet in mild conditions today
with  1-2 & 3-1 .  Current Foiling status quo went ‘unscathed’ today, same floating upwind mode / downwind flight we have here with the FP/F20 soft wing flying Cats. In the end no breaktrough development seen today with the spartan AC45 OD versions in those conditions.
Cammas & Artemis looked little out of pace, Barker & Draper middle fleet and Oracle got blocked on the start by Cammas in the 2nd race leaving them few choices to comeback.
AC45s foils are all One Design, developed by Martin Fischer, which were my thoughts on Friday when I published Soft Bank Japan foils by Raget , got Martin’s confirmation today, more details on Monday.

On the entertainment side I remember being hooked on past ACWS even in light winds due to the bigger fleet, so we might need to wait for more wind to get to those incredible benchmark past AC45 floating series, I hope…
