Nacra 17s @Palma 2015: Day 1, Results After 2 Races

Image: Sailing Energy / Jesus Renedo – Tough conditions for the initial day of racing at Palma. Top ten below after 2 races in each group. Aruba Capsize by Renedo at https://twitter.com/jesusrenedo – Despite that the Flying Arubies finished 5 & 9. Several other crews like Budock-Curtis have DNC. More info later when available.

Update: Sarah Newberry now racing with Matthew Whitehead: “Conditions were crazy today in Palma. With the full range of 5-30 kts and steep chop we still had a consistent day on the Nacra course with an 8, 7… Unfortunately the 8 turned out to be an OCS but we’re really happy with this progress. Ready to race tomorrow!”

Bundock on their DNCs :“Unfortunately we are not one of these boats on their side as all these boats still have masts. We don’t!! Broke our mast in the first race today along with 6 other #nacra17’s. Plugged in another one ready for tomorrow.” —  Pic by Ian Andrews here
