F16 & F18 Belgian Nats 2013
Nice to have these two classes working together at the Royal Belgian Sailing Club. Report & pics by Jasper van Staveren / Sailshooot.com – More images at CSN FB. —
“Race Committee did a good job on both day by doing 4 races on the first day (Saturday). It was unsure if the conditions on Sunday would been good enough to go out racing, and only 3 races were needed to make the Belgium Nationals a valid event. At the end 7 races were sailed!
Conditions: Very light breeze conditions with a very strond current. Sometimes sailors were doing 0.1 boatspeed because of 4.1 knots breeze and 4.0 knots of current: ‘Slowmotion sailing’.
In F18 class Patrick Demesmaeker and Coen Kleeren did a really good job. Patrick Demesmaeker was surprisingly fourth at the Dutch nationals 2 weeks ago with a mixed (dutch) crew on both days. This weekend he grabbed the Belgium title. The Dutch ‘Van Dams’ (Hans and Marius) did a really good job.
F18 results:
1. (BEL 1) Patrick Demesmaeker, Koen Cleeren (C2) 17,0 2 (14) 1 2 6 1 5
