Magic Performance?
I’m currently receiving info from some designers & builders that I asked for feedback to see what in heaven Oracle modified to achieve that newly found speed upwind , when I came across this in Sail-World
https://www.sail-world.com/USA/Americas-Cup:-Speculation-on-Oracle-Team-USAs-foiling-system/115070 …
2 questions:
1) Whats the difference between this and the autopilots that are used in short-handed long distance yacht races? (do they have special dispensation rules for short-handed races?)
2) OR required noticably less leeway to initiate the boat lowering in height when foiling when compared to TNZ – could this be the explanation? I previously assumed they had more dihedral and hence the correction was more aggressive.
