US F16 Nats 2013: Ravi Parent & Sam Armington Champs
The 2013 Formula 16 US Nats ended yesterday and were held together with the Central Coast Championships at Racine Yacht Club. The F16 Class is profiling for a while now as the default initial performance Class for Youths. In 12yrs old Henri Demesmaeker F16 World Title post we reported that the US along Belguim were the ones supporting at large youth F16 programs. And in this year US Nationals it was clear that the kids are dominating this class right now, this will translate on a generation change in the F18 / Nacra 17 too in years to come.
Well , maybe it will took less… as these kids left world class sailor Gunnar Larsen & Sanne van Hek in third place, a good benchmark on their level.
Red Gear Racing has been behind kids like Taylor Reiss & Matthew Whitehead, that already made a sucessful transition to the major leagues and now they are continuing their support on youth crews and they are quite happy on the program: “What a great event in Racine, WI at the F 16 Nationals. We had 5 youth teams traveling with us and they finished 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th…..great job! Our Viper kids kicked it! Thank you to the Chu Family who let us take over their home with a total of 18 people. Now it is onto Texas to do it again with another 10 kids! Wahoo! Bit can these kids eat!”
