F18 Worlds 2012: Day 3, Results
–
Photo Left by Dave Hein / pix.daveheinphotography.com This is just an incredible event. More wind today after the fog went out. We were having great fun and speeding with the Falcon until a bad offset leeward gate and a boat closing in helped me to pitched slow motion, I hanged to the dagger but didn´t released the mainsheet thinking on the mast. Just a shame silly pitch, we made a quick recovery and went to finish the race.
On the second with even more wind (Matt said 19knots on the mark) another bad start (for a change..) but we recovered quite well footing as mad men, after the reach we raised the spi and started powering up, we passed the photographers boats ‘screaming’ , someone told Matt (driving a coach boat with press guys) “who are those?”, he said, “well, my boys on the Falcon”… full speed catching up and passing boats like grounded posts, all good for the showoff until a gust/deep wave combo send us to the bottom, Gustavo went flying hard, the boat was about to keep flat but again, I didn´t released the car/ mainsheet on the final stage of the pitch, just a little but not that much and we went down x2.
Quick rec again but I waste too much time/energy coming onboard, we were both with some bruises, tired and we went back to fight the remaining days.
Waiting for day 3 images. Check CSN Facebook for more images.
