No wind for the 4th day at Lake Balaton, 6 races completed and the championship is already valid. With de Koning-Visser leading , Heemskerk-Tentij 2nd and Bundock-VanLeeuwen on third all 1 point apart from each other.
Hope tomorrow to have more wind at the Lake, the previous prayer to Aeolus worked, so we encomend to him again.
As a reader posted, a protest has been presented by Pim Nieuwenhuis and Fer Van West regarding the cloth used on some Sail Innovation mains. This is public info at the event.
Olivier Bovyn has requested SI to present their sails for re measurement cheking cloth validity.
More info when available.
The only thing I must say is : Don´t we have a measurment procedure to prevent this kind protests at the last day of the event?

No notebook for me earlier (7am Arg) as one of my kids spill some precious argentine Malbec over yesterday night… lucky enough to have an hp specialist 2 blocks away from home, that keyboard was gone with style… then I went buying some alu extrusions for the RC16s and here I am, waiting for a new World Champ…
But so many things going on with top 3 contenders, plus the protest, plus the fellow countrymen doing well that I prefer not to report or analisys any further after the end of the Event.
Hoping also that the protest can be solved and the sails are legal for the good sake of the sailors in first place and then for the Class itself.

A word from Argie F18World ‘veteran’ (4th event) Cruz Gonzalez Smith “anyone can make it sailing concentrated” and well, they are a proof of that statement as they are currently 8th with Mariano Heuser. ned 007 & FRA 036 are still on the beach according the trackers…as the only boats. Does this imply that sailinnovation sails do not comply to f18 rules?

Mischa is still on the water and could still win!
    He deserves it…

Regardless of whether the boats measure or not…bringing up a measurement protest at the end of the regatta is poor form. Especisally after 3 days of measuring.

What was the result of the protest?

Leaving a protest until the end of the regatta is poor form, however, since very few know all the details of what has happened – you can't say that in this case.

Most of what is being circulated is simply rumour and unfortunately too may people have jumped on what little information is available and drawn conclusion.

Maybe its best to wait until we hear officially from Olivier etc before saying our piece?

Well done to everyone on the water. Its sounds like a tough weeks racing and good luck to those battling it out for the Championship.
