French F18 Class & the Ocean Defender Foundation

The French F18 class is setting up an agreement with Ocean Defender Foundation with one goal : Promoting Citizen awareness on Ecology organizing F18 events.

The First event will be rounding Corsica island (280 nautical miles) from 10 to 12 of Jun, second event will link Barcelona to Argeles (France) from 17 to 19 of Jun.

The third event is an F18 event is a show in Argeles port close to public from 24 to 26 of Jun. The 2010 edition video clip is available at following link: www.oceandeftour.com/fr/pages/Bienvenue/1/

The Raid Extreme Corse is organize in the same way as Archipelago. It will be a non stop race (night and day) for limited selected teams. Each team is composed by 3 sailors who are allowed to swap at defined marks, Corsica rescue center and French Navy are part of the safety organization.
The Aspreto Navy base facilities close to Ajaccio will be used as base camp for boat rigging, teams presentation and housing. Each boat will be equipped with automatic beacon allowing live tracking on event website.
Some archipelago specialists are expected on the entry list.
