Big Events like the Eurocat are quite hard to report fully on every class and details, and as I’m getting several “complains” on specific riders, boats, class mentions etc, I asked Brett this morning to send a report of the C1 Class, where the AHPC Viper is king. There are other brands competing on this class, so instead of pointing that out, just send a report and I’ll publish it!

By Brett Goodall-
“Carnac was a great event!!! Much colder than I am used to though, let’s just
say I fell in love with my dry suit. It was a great event and the VIPERs
where there in good numbers. Unfortunately we had alot of last minute
cancellations which left our numbers much lower than expected.

Consistency was the key in the VIPER fleet. Frenchman, Emmanuel Le Chapelier
consistent enough to only drop a third position and take first place. After
last year sailing the F18 with Francis Ferrari, Le Chapelier teamed up with
Guilamme Eliot on the VIPER with the F16 and VIPER titles in his sights.

Belgian F18 sailor, Patrick Demesmeaker, found his rhythm in the heavier
conditions on the last day with 3 bullet to finish in second followed by
VIPER “veteran” Chris Sproat.

I think the most telling thing in from this event is that the VIPER is being
raced by and amazing variety of crews. The top 5 consisted of every make up
of gender and the top 7 different nationalities!!! We are more proud of this
than any individual results.

The broad appeal of the VIPER and ISAF class certification has lead to great
international interest and we look forward to seeing the class grow and lots
of happy face on VIPERS.”
