F18 Team Race wrap up.

I was “racing” on Saturday (my friend’s F18 mast went down while sailing to the race..) so I couldn´t catch the entire feed, but I could managed to watch the final race and prize giving ceremony right here on the blog.
A racing wrap-up is being made, meanwhile some view of the making above.

Luckily the wind came up just in time for the team race. The previous scheduled F18 course racing with 48 boats was canceled due to lack of wind.
The Knock Out event was a success. Some problems with the live feed, but with a 1st huge bid like this it was almost expected.
The race was won by team Yellow with Mischa Heemskerk/Bastian Tentij (on a perfect Cirrus R debut) and Thijs Visser/Matthieu Mairfang (Infusion) over Bundock’s team.
Sponsored by MagicMarine, this type of racing and live promotion should expand to standard course racing too.
Mischa de Munck and the rest of the people involved broke new grounds for live broadcasting for sailing events, and they’ve set a standard framework to continue to work on.
Next time experience will serve for sure, and tech details will be polished along a smoother feed.
