Argentina is leading the F18 development in South America and we expect a +20 boat fleet in October for the official first F18SA that is going to be held at the (YCA) Yacht Club Argentino along with the biggest sailing event of the entire region, Buenos Aires Week 2011.
We’ve been thinking on organizing one, but using the prestigious BA Week event was James Baeckler’s idea (IF18CA Gral Sec ). In 2010 we had people from Venezuela and from our sister fleet in Uruguay. For this edition we’ll have sailors from Chile, hopefully we can invite some Brazilians (no fleet there, only H16) and we are planning to have some Pros attending as we had Gunnar Larsen giving some excellent clinics in 2010.
This championship will be held in October 2011, more info to come.
Some charter boats might be available. This is an IF18CA Official Continental Event, approved in Dec 2010 WC meeting.
Come visit Buenos Aires, you wont regret it.
I would like to come and give a clinic!

I would not dare to put my boat into THAT water! How much time do you spent cleaning after a sail???? ;o)
If you've got available F18's, you could offer boat to Brazilian H16 sailors – agreeing ARG sailors would in return be provided boat in the Brazilian H16 nationals?

When is Brazil going to have an F18 fleet?
Brazil has the biggest potential for the F18 or for any other cat Class.
They have a huge H16 fleet that was about to desintegrate itself 2 years ago but sailors managed to save it with hard personal work and extra $.
They´ve been following the Arg F18 project since the 1st Racecat, but no fleet yet.
Now with good availability of new and used F18s in our market (imported and the local made Cap) we can supply them to form their fleet.
We are planning a trip with some of our F18s to promote the class there.
Location? Sailing Paradise itself: Ilha Bela.
Martin what do we have to do to get a container of F18s into Brazil?
