Wave Piercer & Spray rails…. XIX Century style

Before Peter Egner designed the 1st wave-piercer or “inverted bow” A-Class and Martin Fischer established and adapted the spray rails (used first in other beachcats like the Spitfire, my RC16 etc) on the Wildcat , some fellow german countrymen of these catsailors, Ferdinand Shichau, designed the fastest power boat on the planet (at that time) a Wave Piercer-Spray rail PT Boat, Dragon Class destroyer- Check hull volume distribution in photo below…

Lenght 59 meters,
6.4 meters wide,
2.55 meters draft,
displacement of 234 tons.
Equipped with two vertical expansion steam engines
5000 hp power
Speed 32knots (some say 33.6)

“Already invented before” Below the latest stealth Navy destroyer described once here in the blog with a good video on hull behaviour on a test tank.
