F18 Argentina: Gunnar Larsen technical talk
Part of the local fleet
Gunnar yesterday gave us a full insight talk about all the technical aspects on racing an F18, the local fleet has a good combo with experienced’ F18 sailors (3 years tops) and new cat sailors so the questions were covering from basics to some specific techniques for our river. He put emphasis on our local tough conditions, and for him that is the key for the reasonable good level of the local fleet in such a short time, as we need to try harder.
But he also touched the key issue…, someone asked him which was the secret to win… hehe well , he gave us the answer, but you’ll have to visit us next year if you want know that!
Full detailed answers from Gunnar, with a lot of patience. We are really thankful with him for his disposition. Today we’ll have an on the water clinic.

Hi Martin, are you going to share what Gunnar passed to you guys in an article form? That would be great…in particular I’m also interested in what he did say about N°15: why crew is on wire in light winds. I’ve seen pictures of that in 2010 Worlds and Bissaro-Cesari reported it as well, but said they still have to figure it out. I have now idea what’s the reason behind it.
Cheers
Dom from Italy (fellow kiteboarder as well)
