Hobie NL winter training
And sometimes in Buenos Aires we complain about our open river conditions and shallow waters…. although sometimes it gets cold in winter, with a full 2/3 neoprene and a spraytop you can sail quite comfortable all day.
Reading this report from Mischa de Munck makes me appreciate even more what we have.
A frozen sea is not an issue for hardcore catsailors…

1st Hobie team 2010 training session:
“This winter I’m coaching training sessions in Holland for all dutch F18’s , HC16s and Hobie NED teams. Last sunday a good friend of mine (Bas Paumen) made a video of the training.
We had a perfect day: -3 degrees in the morning with an offshore breeze of 8 knots, but with the strength of the march sun the temperature soon rose to around +3 degrees and the sun made it feel a lot warmer. Also the wind slowly increased and started veering and backing a lot.
As you can see in the video we had to break the ice to get on the water and I had to drive the motorboat through the water in order to let the boats out.
When we launched the boat in the morning we had islands of ice all around!
This and a clear sunny day made a perfect training for all the 13 boats (7 F18’s 6 Hc16)”

Looks like in your report the Hobies are not really present. Suggest to rewrite the article.
Thanks for the great report Wik. Great battle.
If I correctly read the results the overall winner this year is a Hobie16
